Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the 2nd Story Monthly Series and the 2nd Story Festival?

While the stories are, stylistically, very similar, our Monthly Series features performances only by those storytellers in our storytelling cycle.  For the Annual Festival, we accept outside submissions, hold auditions and invite special guests to perform. Additionally, local musicians and DJs are asked to collaborate on the sonic design of the stories, as well as play brief sets in between stories. Finally, 12 local theatre directors work to craft one individual evening of the 2nd Story festival.

Can I get food at 2nd Story?

Absolutely. Webster's Wine Bar features a terrific seasonal menu of small plates that emphasizes fresh ingredients. Red Kiva, though a traditional nightclub, does offer a variety of flatbread pizzas.  Won't you join us for dinner as well?

How do I get the seat that I want?

For performances at Red Kiva and Webster's Wine Bar, show up early. Tickets to all 2nd Story events are sold online through Brown Paper Tickets. Box office check-in begins at 6:30pm nightly. Seating begins at 7pm. We ask that all parties who purchased tickets online are complete before we seat them and we seat all parties in the order in which they arrive. Stories begin between 7:30pm and 7:45pm. Performances last roughly one hour and 45 minutes.

In addition, due to the communal nature of 2nd Story, you may be asked to share a table with a friendly stranger. We hope you don’t mind.

What happens if tickets are sold out?

Once tickets are sold out online, they are sold out. Our apologies.

How can I tell a story at 2nd Story?
