Albany Park has always been a place where people arrive and make something new. Languages layered over languages. Recipes handed down and reinvented. Seeds carried from somewhere else, and look what grows.

On June 20, 2nd Story and our neighbors invite you to Cross-Pollination — a free community celebration of what migration and immigration have made possible in one of the most beautifully diverse neighborhoods in the world.

Come share a story or just come to hear one. Learn what grows at Global Gardens — and how it grows, through the shared knowledge of cooks and farmers from communities across the globe who have found common ground in a seed, a method, a meal. Connect with neighbors you haven't met yet.

Featuring storytelling, snacks, activities, and more!

Albany Park has been welcoming migrants, immigrants, and refugees for generations. Cross-Pollination is our chance to celebrate what that welcome has built.

Free and open to all.

Cross-Pollination runs Saturday, June 20, 11 am - 4 pm, in spaces and parks within a block of the intersection of Lawrence & Sacramento.
